This is how I'll be starting off 2009. The pictures alone are making me mega-wet.
Everyone will be there.

brand new
I finally got my DSLR-- Nikon D40. My first subject was some Nong Shim ramen, which I had for dinner.
It was so spicy, I almost choked. I think Shin Ramen is the only thing spicier.
They're a bit fuzzy because it's hard to photograph in low light with a lens that has a maximum aperture of f/3.5 and no tripod.

Helvetica: A Documentary Film by Gary Hustwit
Great documentary on the fonts with an emphasis on Helvetica. For screenings in your area, click here. There's a 2008/2009 section at the very bottom. I saw this documentary a few months ago, and it's one of the more interesting documentaries I've seen-- apart from the ones about drugs.

shit's bananas
I've been on a Planet of the Apes marathon the past few days. In case you didn't know, parts of the fourth installment of Planet Of The Apes, Conquest of the Planet of the Apes was filmed at UCI. Here's a few shots of it.
Don't tell me that's not the side of Murray Kreiger Hall in 1972.
Can you guess this one? Look like SST to you?
